Version 1.2.4
Coming soon
New
- Tasset AI: on the Tasset AI plan, AI works with no key of your own. Tasset's Gemini answers within your plan's monthly allowance; the AI view and your Account file show it as included in your plan.
- How much of this month's allowance you have used is shown as a percentage after each Tasset AI answer and on your Account file, with a notice at 80%. When it runs out, Buy AI credits opens a one-time checkout; credits never expire.
- A daily limit protects your account: when it is reached, the file says exactly when it resets.
- In-file AI works with Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT, each with your own key. The model list always shows what each provider offers today, so a retired model never breaks a file.
- The AI can insert text, tables and charts into your document, and it finishes its answer after inserting.
- Local models: choose from the models installed on your computer.
- With supported cloud models, the AI no longer receives your whole document: it gets a map of it (title, section headings, table titles and column headers) and reads only the lines it needs.
- Tokens Saver. After an answer that read only part of your files, a green "≈ N tokens saved at $X in savings" opens the Tasset Tokens Saver. It shows how much of every file it read was sent to the AI (listed), and what that saved: the files' whole Address Index minus what was sent, input tokens only (writing the answer is not counted). An answer that was sent the whole file says "Read 100% of 1 file, sent whole".
- The dollars in "tokens saved" come from each AI provider's official price page (read October 22, 2026); a model whose price the page does not state shows tokens saved only.
- Every citation is checked before an answer shows it as verified; a line the AI did not read, a quote that is not in the line, or an address that does not exist is marked in red with its reason and opens its Verification Log entry. When the AI cites a line it did not read, it is asked once to read it and answer again ("Verifying citations…" shows meanwhile).
- When the AI reads your document by navigating it, a substantial answer that cites nothing from the document is marked "Not tied to this document"; cited lines an AI wrote earlier are marked "AI-written source".
- Citations stay correct while you edit: when you add, delete or move text, insert a table, or an AI inserts content anywhere, every citation follows its line to its new address.
- The Verification Log shows each citation on its own row; click a row to see where it points now and its history, with the line's text at each step.
- A citation whose line was removed is kept and shown red and struck through; it never silently points at another line. If the line's text changed since it was cited, it shows amber.
- After an AI answer, a badge counts its citations ("24/24 Citations Verified", or what failed and why). The AI is told the new addresses of what it inserts, so it can cite its own lines.
- The Address Index begins with the file's title, type, owner and creation date; each save records a fingerprint of every line with a root hash, so changes made outside Tasset are noticed.
- Paste brings a document in whole: headings, paragraphs, every table in its place, and lists item by item with their numbers, in one step. If anything goes wrong, nothing is pasted and you are told why. Pastes from Word, Google Docs, web pages, Markdown and PDFs in Chrome keep their structure; headings come from the source's own heading styles. Lists inside table cells keep their numbers and bullets. Images aren't pasted yet; you are told when they are left out.
- Resend on every AI error line runs the same prompt again in place, taking back anything the failed answer inserted; when the provider asks you to wait, Resend says how long. Reply under an answer continues the same conversation.
- Move any row: drag the ⠿ handle beside a row, press and hold its address, or press Alt+Shift+↑/↓. Paragraphs, headings, tables, AI content, charts, and a prompt with its answer all move, and every citation moves with them. Undo (or Cmd/Ctrl+Z) puts it back.
- Charts and other interactive content have their own address and caption, and show in Presentation.
- Read other open files: the Orchestrate button next to Send lists your other open Agentic files. Pick the ones the AI may read for this prompt and press Start, which sends the prompt: with supported cloud models, the AI reads them outline first and cites their lines, and each citation is checked in the file it comes from while that file is open (one that could not be checked there is marked "In another file — not checked here"). Each file being read shows "Part of an orchestration from …" with a Stop button and cannot be edited until the run ends; nothing is read before you press Start, and the files are read for that prompt only. While the answer works, it says which file it is reading, and the prompt shows "Orchestrating {n} files"; your chosen files stay chosen for your next prompt. Click a citation from another file and that file opens at the line in one tab kept for it, read-only, however many times you click. Clicking a citation from another file shows the cited line highlighted even on the first click, while that file is still opening. Notices sit in the file's header bar, beside the file name, never over your document. Resend on an orchestrated prompt reads the same files again. In the Verification Log, citations of other open files show as Verified, as they do in the answer.
- Each answer shows its date and time. The last line under an answer is its date and time; the response time stays on the first line.
- Gemini 4 Argon: Tasset now picks Gemini 4 Argon by itself for charts and heavy requests, on both plans, always at its lowest thinking level. On the Tasset AI plan it can use up to a quarter of the month's allowance; after that, answers continue on Gemini 3.8 Flash.
Improved
- Gemini 3.1 Pro is no longer offered. With your own Claude or OpenAI key, heavy requests now go to that provider's strongest model.
- Your own key always comes first: with your own Gemini key saved, your Gemini answers use it, and your Tasset AI allowance is not used.
- The Account file's PLAN shows the plan you subscribed to.
- Clearer AI errors: a refused key, a model your key cannot use, a rate limit (with how long to wait) and an account without credits each say so.
- Signed out, a file never contacts an AI provider.
- OpenAI now shows as ChatGPT, the name you know.
- With no model chosen, a Tasset AI subscriber gets Tasset's model selected; with your own keys, the file asks you to choose one of them, or to add one.
- Local models still read the whole document, on your computer. The AI chat box goes through the same path as a prompt in the document.
- Sentences split correctly in new, pasted and edited paragraphs ("Dr.", "U.S.", "A.", "II." no longer end a line); paragraphs nobody edited keep their breaks.
- The editor has no dead ends: Backspace and Enter around headings work as expected, a heading can turn back into a line, and content can come before the first heading. Every view uses one width; long links wrap and wide tables scroll inside the page.
- Prompts keep their line breaks when sent.
- Your Account file's AI keys have their own section, AI API Keys. Each key shows the AI it is for (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT), with its status, Change and Remove on separate lines, and every button has the same style as Sign in.
- The side panel shows the file owner's organization, kept current.
- After following several citations in a row, one Back returns you to where you started. Back after a citation returns you to where you clicked it, also after the file was reloaded or updated, and in a file opened from another file's citation.
- The AI places each citation right after the value or fact it supports, in the order the values appear.
- Fewer "Not Read by AI" citations: the AI is told to read a line before citing it, including a line it only saw mentioned inside an earlier AI answer.
- The Verification Log uses the same text size as the ADAP view.
- One Account file tab. "Add one in your Account file" and, signed out, "Sign in from your Account file" bring your open Account file forward instead of opening another copy.
- The message and the stats under a prompt start where the prompt box starts, on narrow windows too.
- Typing in a long document no longer lags: each edit re-checks only what changed.
- Gemini models answer at the lowest thinking level Google offers for each model, so answers come faster and use less of your allowance.
- A pasted key is checked for every AI. A key copied with an extra line (for example "projects/…") is refused with what the key should look like, for Claude and ChatGPT keys too; nothing is saved.
- Google's newer API keys work. A Gemini key starting with AQ. now saves and verifies (keys starting with AIza still do).
- Cursor at the end of a new prompt. After typing "prompt::" and pressing Return, the cursor sits at the end of your prompt text.
- Stop gives your prompt back. Stopping an answer before the AI has written anything returns an editable prompt box with its Orchestrate and Send buttons, so you can change the prompt and send it again.
- Moved lines stay Moved. A citation of another open file's line that moved (for example because content was inserted above it) follows the line to where it is now, instead of reading "Line Removed".
- Account page tidied. The AI API Keys section is spaced like the account section; Change and Remove are grey like Sign out; Add AI API Key turns grey while its form is open; the "Choose an AI" list and the key form match the page's other controls.
Fixed
- AI answers show their formatting (headings, bold, lists) instead of raw symbols, and never show the AI's internal labels.
- A citation or link to a table cell that comes before the first heading now highlights that cell in Presentation.
- On a narrow window, a sent prompt's text lines up with its box again.
- In Presentation, a table whose top-left heading cell is empty keeps its first column, and every cell of it can be cited and highlighted.
- A key the provider rejects is marked "Key rejected" in your Account file at once, in every open file.
- A copy of a file (with its own document ID) keeps every citation working. An Address Index line never breaks across two lines.
- The Verification Log keeps its full history: no entry is ever dropped.
- Delete a sentence you cited and its citation turns red: it never quietly points at the next sentence.
Version 1.1.4
Coming soon
Updates you can follow from start to finish, built to keep everything you wrote exactly as it was. Versions 1.1.0 to 1.1.3 were released for testing; 1.1.4 brings them all together, so a file on 1.0 gets everything below in one update.
Improved
- When a file updates itself as it opens, you see one "Updating to version …" message until it opens with the "Updated to version" note, instead of several screens in a row.
- "Updated to version" and "The update couldn't be applied" now stay until you close them with their ✕, so you never miss them. "Updated to version" shows when the file was actually updated, not when you opened it.
- The Update All Files summary reads at a glance: your folder's name, then the files updated (with the new version), the files already up to date, and the files that could not update (each with its reason). Files in the folder come before files in its subfolders, and the window is as wide as the longest file name.
Fixed
- Pressing Update in the first seconds after you send a prompt now also waits for the AI answer to finish before the file updates.
- An AI answer you stop, or one that fails, now has its own entry in the Verification Log.
- If you cancel the file picker while connecting a file, Tasset asks again instead of leaving the file frozen.
Version 1.1.3
October 10, 2026
A cleaner, calmer file: one dialog style, a signed-out view you can recognise, and AI answers saved the moment they finish.
Improved
- Update All Files now tells you which folder to choose and what will happen before the folder picker opens, and the picker starts on your Desktop.
- The "Updated to version" and "The update couldn't be applied" messages have a ✕ to close them, and they go away by themselves after 10 seconds. The side panel still shows when the file was updated.
- Every Tasset dialog has the same clear look: rounded corners, a dark outline, and larger, darker text. Lists in a dialog line up on the left.
- The side panel's items are one size larger, with a little more space between them.
- When you are signed out, a file shows its own content behind the sign-in message, too blurred to read but clear enough to tell which file it is. Nothing behind the message can be clicked, selected or copied, and signing in opens the file right away.
Fixed
- An AI answer is saved to the file as soon as it finishes, also after Stop or an error, so closing the file right after an answer no longer loses it.
- The Verification Log keeps every AI session the file has ever had. Older sessions are no longer dropped after 500.
- A replaced Account file keeps its details hidden behind its read-only message and no longer offers a download. Download a replacement Account file from your account page on tasset.ai.
Version 1.1.2
October 7, 2026
Your file stays on the Tasset service it was made with, and updates are one click.
Fixed
- A file always stays connected to the Tasset service it was created with. An update can no longer move it to another one (which could sign you out of every open file).
- A file's index (what outside AIs read) now always matches its document when it saves, also right after an AI answer or an update.
Improved
- When an update is ready, the top of the file says UPDATE AVAILABLE: click it to update, or See What's New first. UPDATE AVAILABLE in the side panel starts the update too.
- Clearer words: "Sign in to Tasset to activate this file." and "Click Enable Auto Save to update it."
- The message bar stays in view under the header as you scroll, and steps aside while Tasset asks for permission to save.
- A file you are signed out of shows a clear sign-in screen instead of an empty page.
- Clicking update while an AI answer is still arriving says it is waiting for the answer to finish.
Version 1.1.1
October 6, 2026
Security first: nothing hidden runs in your file, and every file tells outside AIs how to cite it line by line.
Security
- Pasting from a web page or another document can no longer run hidden code inside a file. Pasted content is read for its text and structure only.
- A file shows nothing until you sign in. Signed out, it shows only how to sign in from your Account file, or sign up.
- Exported pages, and the ADAP view, show only the open instructions for outside AIs, never Tasset's own AI instructions.
- An exported page shows a document's title and text exactly as written: markup in them can no longer run on the published page.
New
- Every file and every export now carries clear instructions for outside AIs (such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini) on how to find content in the file and cite it line by line.
Improved
- The side panel shows VERSION right after FILE, and its title is now "Agentic Data Address File".
- Fonts are built into each file: files open without contacting any font service, and Latin-alphabet text looks right offline. Files are also smaller.
Fixed
- Your AI keys open as soon as you sign in on the browser where you saved them; no extra password is asked. Signing out locks them. In a different browser, you can set up your keys there.
- "Update All Files" now also updates the files in every folder inside the folder you pick.
- New documents record one creation date everywhere, and their index no longer carries a person's name.
- Files no longer contain internal developer notes.
Version 1.1.0
October 2, 2026
Files that update themselves, with your content left exactly as you wrote it.
New
- Your files now update themselves. When a new version is ready, a file updates the next time you open it, and your content stays exactly as it was.
- The side panel shows each file's version, with "Update this file", "What's new", and "Restore previous version" for 30 days after an update.
- "Update all files…" updates every Tasset file in a folder in one step, including files that aren't open.
- Automatic updates can be set to On or "Ask me" in your Account file.
Improved
- A file has one editing view at a time. If the same file is open in another tab, that tab asks before it takes over, and nothing typed in either tab is lost.
Fixed
- Text containing certain code characters (such as a closing
</script>tag) could cut off part of a saved file. Saves are now lossless, and files already affected are repaired when they update. - Opening the same file in two tabs could overwrite work saved in the other tab.
Security
- Each file's engine is locked with its own key, so one key can only ever open one document.
Version 1.0.0
August 4 to September 29, 2026
New
- Account file sign-in, secure storage for your AI provider keys, and files that work offline.
Fixed
- Signup file delivery, duplicate-file detection on first sign-in, and offline editing for paying users.
Security
- Every file's engine is encrypted, and the key is issued only to signed-in subscribers.
Files from version 1.0 can't update themselves: open your current Account file and choose "Update all files…".
