A Tasset Agentic Data File is a document that lives on your computer. Every line and every table cell gets its own permanent address, so when AI answers from your file, you can click any citation and land on the exact line it came from.
You need: Google Chrome on your computer, and a Tasset subscription (see pricing). Files open in any browser, but only Chrome can save them in place.
Set up in four steps
- Subscribe. On Pricing, click Start Now under the plan you want. Enter your email and a password, click Continue to payment, and pay on the Stripe page. When you see You're in., click Go to your account.
- Download your files. On your account page, click Download your starter files. Unzip them into one folder where you want to keep them.
- Open your Account file in Chrome and sign in. Your Account file is the key to all your other files. Sign in with your email and password. Every Tasset file open in Chrome signs in with it.
- Open a file and turn on Enable Auto Save. The first time, the top bar shows Not saved and an Enable Auto Save button. Click it, click Continue in File Access Needed, then pick the same file in the window that opens and let Chrome save it. (If you start typing first, the file asks the same way.) From then on your file saves itself about a second after each change. The top bar shows Saving…, then Saved ✓.
Your files can live in any folder. Sign in once in your Account file, ACCOUNT-tasset.html; every file you open in that browser is then signed in. If a file is in a different folder from your Account file, open the Account file yourself when you need it (keep it open, and the file brings it forward).
Need more files? Use Download more files on your account page, or Download More Files in a file's side panel. Save them into the same folder.
Lost your Account file? See Replacing your Account file.
Tip (optional): Tasset works well in its own Chrome profile, kept just for your Tasset files. In Chrome, click your profile picture (top right) → Add → Continue without an account, name it "Tasset", then open your Tasset files from that window.
The five views
Switch views from the menu next to the file name at the top, or from STACK in the side panel.
| View | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Presentation | Reading. Your document, laid out cleanly. |
| Workspace | Writing. Where you type, add sections and tables, and ask AI. |
| ADAP | The file's address book: every line's address and the exact text stored there. |
| AI | Choosing which AI answers your prompts. |
| Verification Log | Every citation an AI has made in this file, and whether it checked out. |
Write in Workspace
Click the title to name your document, and fill in the fields under it (author, organization and so on) if you want them. Then type. Three commands do the rest: type one at the start of a new line and press Enter. Capital or small letters both work.
SECTION:: adds a heading
SECTION:: Market overview
The line becomes a section heading, with a fresh line under it to keep writing.
TABLE:: adds a table
Q3 Sales TABLE:: 3x4
You get a table titled "Q3 Sales" with 3 columns and 4 rows. TABLE:: on its own makes a 2 × 2 table. Press Tab to move from cell to cell; Tab in the last cell adds a row.
PROMPT:: asks AI
PROMPT:: Summarize the market overview and cite your sources
The line becomes a prompt box. Edit it if you like (Enter adds a line), then click Send. More on AI below.
Paste and move
- Paste text, lists or tables from anywhere: headings, lists and tables come in as headings, lists and tables.
- Move a row by dragging the ⠿ handle beside it, or press Alt + Shift + ↑ / ↓. A note appears with Undo, and Cmd/Ctrl + Z undoes a move too.
Ask AI inside your file
1. Choose your AI in the AI view:
- Tasset AI is included with Tasset AI plans. Nothing to set up. Your usage shows as a percentage in your Account file under PLAN and after each answer, with a notice at 80%.
- Your own key (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT): open your Account file, find AI API Keys, click Add AI API Key, choose the AI and paste your key. Your own key is used first when you have one.
- Local runs a model on your own computer with Ollama: choose Local and pick a model. Nothing leaves your computer.
2. Ask with a PROMPT:: line and click Send. While it works you'll see Reading your workspace…, Analyzing… and Generating…; Stop ends it.
3. Keep going. Click Reply under an answer to continue the conversation. If something goes wrong, Resend tries again.
The AI can add new sections, tables and charts to your document. They are marked as AI-written in the margin, so you always know who wrote what.
If the AI list or Orchestrate looks out of date, reload the file (Cmd + R on Mac, Ctrl + R on Windows). With Auto Save on, your work is already saved.
Tokens Saver
With supported cloud models, the AI gets a map of your document and reads only the lines it needs. After an answer that read only part of your files, a green ≈ N tokens saved line appears under it, with the dollar saving when the provider publishes a price. Click it to open the Tasset Tokens Saver: how much of each file was sent to the AI, and what that saved (input tokens only, at the provider's published price). An answer that was sent the whole file says Read 100% of 1 file, sent whole.
Buy AI credits
On the Tasset AI plan, if this month's allowance runs out, the message under your prompt links to the AI credits you can buy, and a window lists them. Click one and a one-time Stripe checkout opens in a new tab. Credits never expire. When they arrive, the file says so: click Resend to keep going.
There is also a daily limit. If you reach it, the file tells you exactly when it resets.
Read across your files with Orchestrate
The AI can read your other Tasset files and answer across all of them, citing lines in each one.
- Open the files you want the AI to read in Chrome, signed in.
- In the file you're working in, write your
PROMPT::line and click Orchestrate, next to Send. It lists your FILES OPEN IN BROWSER. Don't see a file? Click its tab, come back, and click refresh list. - Tick the files the AI may read for this prompt.
- Click Start. Start sends your prompt. The prompt shows Orchestrating N files, and the answer's status line says which file it is reading.
While it runs:
- Each file being read shows Part of an orchestration from … beside its name, with a Stop button, and can't be edited until the run ends. Stop ends the run.
- Nothing is read before you click Start, and the files are read for that prompt only. Your chosen files stay ticked for your next prompt.
In the answer:
- A citation of another file is checked in that file. It follows its line when content moves, and turns red and struck through if the line is deleted.
- Click a citation of another file and that file opens at the line, read-only, in one tab kept for it, however many times you click.
- After you reopen a file, ask a fresh orchestrated question before clicking citations to other files.
- Resend on an orchestrated prompt reads the same files again.
Orchestrate works with supported cloud models. A local model answers from the file you're in only, and says so.
How files link to each other
When an answer cites another file, the citation saves two things: the line's permanent address (like U000005.D002-1.PG1.S32.P43.L101) and the way from your file to the cited one. That way is the file's name if it sits in the same folder, or a short route like ../Filings/10-K 2025.html if it sits in a folder next to yours. Nothing else about your folders is saved. As you cite, your files link up into a map of your folders (each arrow is a citation):
Reports/
├── Market notes.html
│ ├─▶ Q3 plan.html
│ └─▶ ../Filings/10-K 2025.html
└── Q3 plan.html
Filings/
└── 10-K 2025.html
While a cited file is open in Chrome, its citations work whatever its name or folder. To open a closed file at the cited line, your file follows the saved way to it, so the cited file needs to be where it was when it was cited. This is how linking works in the current version.
Good practice:
- Name your files and folders the way you want them before you cite them.
- Keep cited files where they are. Renaming a cited file, renaming its folder, or moving files after citing changes the way between them.
- To reorganise, close the tabs first, then rename or move, then open the files again from their new place. An open file saves to the place it was opened from.
If a cited file was renamed or moved, clicking its citation shows Chrome's "file not found" page. Put the file back under its old name and place, or open it in Chrome, and clicks work again. The citation itself, its address and its verification result stay in your file either way.
Check every citation
Every fact in an answer carries a citation chip, like @S2.P1.L3. Click it and the file jumps to that exact line and highlights it.
Tasset checks each citation against your file, and the answer shows how many passed, for example 3/3 Citations Verified. Hover a chip to see its result: Verified, Text Changed Since Cited, Line Removed, Not Read by AI, Misquoted or Fabricated — Does Not Exist. A citation that fails is struck through in red.
The Verification Log view keeps the full history: every citation, every check, and what happened to the line since.
Update your files
Your files update themselves. With Automatic Updates: ON (the setting in your Account file's side panel), a file updates the next time you open it: you see Updating to version …, then Updated to version … (close it with its ✕). Your content stays exactly as you wrote it.
- UPDATE AVAILABLE at the top of a file means an update is ready: click it to update, or click See What's New first.
- If the file says Click Enable Auto Save to update it., click Enable Auto Save.
- Update every file in a folder at once: in the side panel, under VERSION, click Update All Files, then Continue, and choose the folder that holds your Tasset files. Files in its subfolders are updated too. A summary lists the files updated, already up to date, and any that couldn't update, with the reason.
- Changed your mind? Restore Previous Version in the side panel puts a file back for 30 days after an update.
Set Automatic Updates: ASK ME in your Account file's side panel if you'd rather choose when.
Export a web page for AI agents
In the side panel, under CONTROL, click Export for /agenticweb/. Chrome downloads a web page version of your document, named after its document ID and ending in -static.html, that AI agents can read and cite line by line. See /agenticweb.
The side panel
Open it with the panel button in the top bar.
- FILE: who owns the file, when it was made and changed, its size and tokens.
- VERSION: your Tasset version and whether an update is ready. What's New shows the release notes. Restore Previous Version undoes an update for 30 days. Update All Files updates every file in a folder at once.
- STACK: jump between views, or to your Account file.
- CONTROL:
- Change Logo puts your logo on the file (SVG or PNG, up to 400 KB and 180 × 50 px).
- Download More Files opens your account page.
- Read-Only Preview shows the file as a reader sees it.
- Export for /agenticweb/ saves a web page version that AI agents can read and cite. See /agenticweb.
- Sign In / Sign Out.
Your plan
- Change your card, see invoices, or cancel: sign in at your account page and click Manage billing. It opens your Stripe billing page.
- Resubscribe: sign in at your account page. It shows Your subscription was cancelled: click Resubscribe and choose a plan. Your account and files are still here.
