Humans make the decisions.
Knowledge work started with cave walls and stone. Then paper and ledgers. Then word processors and spreadsheets. And recently only decades ago, software becomes better than spreadsheets. Now AI promises to think better than humans. And with agentic AI, better than software and humans at performing knowledge work.
An agent, by definition, is a person or entity that acts on behalf of another. That definition has not changed. And should never change. Humans decide what is to be done, why, how, and when. Especially when other humans and transactions are involved.
AI and agents can execute work. They operate within parameters humans define. They can make decisions within a context of permissions based on what humans have already decided. By hierarchy, they do not make the decisions. In Tasset, every access rule, every permission gate, every transaction condition is set by the author — encrypted into the file, enforced by the structure. AI or agents never decide. The author does. Simple and non-negotiable.
